What is the right job for me? - Perspectives for scientists in the high-tech sector

But what is a suitable job for me? What type of employer matches best my personal profile and which industries can I work in? In which position can I benefit from my skills and strengths? And how do I read a job advertisement correctly?

14:15 – 15:30 Uhr academics – a subsidiary of ZEIT publishing house with over 10 year’s experience within the scientific job market, knows very well about the challenges researchers face during job hunting. Three career talks will help to figure out how to proceed while planning your career. Dr. Christoph Lindemann from academics will present arguments in favor of and against a classic scientific career in academia. For all those who have already decided for a career in industry, matching technologies will help you to check out your personality fit to the companies’ cultural fit. What this comprises and how it works will be presented by ZEIT Online product manager Mathilde Cabenda. Andreas Haase, audience manager at academics, will present different job profiles for researchers in industry and what kind of employee personality employers wish for.

Furthermore, jobvector and academics will offer on all three days of the show, from 16th-18th of May at their booths current job vacancies posted by companies working in the biotech and laboratory sector.
