The laboratory world is currently in a state of upheaval. The shift from automated to intelligently networked laboratories is characterized by a continuous increase in data-producing systems. Added to this is the rise of advanced technologies such as connectivity, robotics, automation, augmented reality and analytics. The way labs will work in the future and how acquired data will be handled is about to undergo a lasting change.

However, the current equipment landscape in laboratories is heterogeneous and often poorly integrated. This leads to challenges on several levels. The integration of existing devices and systems is therefore an important first step in making data usable for further processing. End-to-end process transparency is of central importance for laboratories. Laboratory managers often spend a lot of time monitoring devices and manually collating data. Role-based IoT applications help connect various data sources to monitor and analyze performance KPIs.

Augmented reality (AR) is also already helping lab workers become more agile and efficient. Process complexity is reduced with the help of understandable step-by-step instructions directly at the workplace. Required information is presented directly in the context of the use of an object and paper-based training efforts can be increasingly reduced.

Are you ready for your lab transformation?

What is important and what do leading experts from business and science recommend to those who want to intelligently network their lab? We have asked for your opinion and compiled a practical expert guide .

We will also show how you too can benefit from the potential applications of IoT and AR with practical examples and demonstrations in our presentations during smartLAB connects. Will you be there?
