Photometrics is proud to announce that its award-winning technology inside the Prime 95B Scientific CMOS camera enables efficient signal conversion for low-light imaging and localization-based super-resolution microscopy. The high-performance computing capacity means that images can be produced from very low light intensity, which protects preparations during life-science imaging and boosts the signal-to-noise ratio three- to five-fold.

"PrimeLocate" is the name Photometrics has coined for its camera's ability to actively select relevant fields in the preparation and only record this specific data. This key feature spares users the kind of unstoppable deluge of data that is all too often associated with high-resolution microscopy. The Prime 95B camera uses the full microscope field-of-view to capture 16-bit images at 41 frames per second (fps) or 12-bit images at 82fps and transmits these via a USB 3.0 interface. The combination of extreme sensitivity, low noise and high frame rates makes the Prime 95B eminently suited for applications such as confocal imaging, single molecule fluorescence and super-resolution microscopy (STORM, PALM.)
