Hannover, Germany. In September, the current situation will be less critical - this is the opinion of the vast majority of LABVOLUTION exhibitors. Although there would have been an elaborate security concept for the original date in May, the organizers of Deutsche Messe AG are now postponing the trade show for the smart laboratory by four months. The new date is September 7 to 9, 2021.

"We have intensively discussed and coordinated with the market and are very pleased that the decision for the September date has met with great approval," says Dr. Andreas Gruchow, member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Messe AG. "The later date provides companies with a better reliability in planning and allows us to organize a true hybrid event. In other words, a physical meeting with an exhibition and conference as well as seminar elements in Hannover - enriched with digital participation options for exhibitors, sponsors and visitors".

All participants are aware that the Corona pandemic will not be overcome by September 2021. But the situation will be more comfortable - also in view of the successes in vaccine development. In order to guarantee an equally dynamic and safe trade fair experience in Hanover, the organizers are further developing the safety and hygiene concept that has already been successfully tested in practical trade fair use.

"We definitely did not want a totally virtual event," says Gruchow. "But digital formats will be available at LABVOLUTION in the future. We will use new technologies to reach an even wider circle of participants. In this respect, we will experience the first hybrid LABVOLUTION in September 2021."

The three main topics of the event are the pandemic and its consequences, digitalization and sustainability. The trade show's fixed program includes the smartLAB, the LIMS and Software Area, the Science Symposium with the topics of vaccines, artificial intelligence and sustainability, the BIOTECHNICA FORUM, the LabUSER Dialogue with its user workshops, and career opportunities for young scientists and industry professionals. In addition, the application process for the second LABVOLUTION Award will begin shortly and the award will be presented at the trade show in September. A premiere at LABVOLUTION will be the link-the-lab format, which focuses on the topic of interfaces.

After next September's LABVOLUTION, the trade show for the smart laboratory will return to its proven spring date for the 2023 edition.
