Hannover/Germany. Decision-makers, product developers and users from the laboratory sector use the trade show in Hannover to catch up on the latest trends and find out about future developments. For this purpose, this year's LABVOLUTION offers more than 100 lectures and presentations as well as a series of workshops.

Latest challenges and opportunities in life sciences

The INDUSTRY Forum at booth D18 serves as platform for the exchange between science and industry during the entire show. To kick off the show on Tuesday, May 9, the forum focuses entirely on making laboratories more sustainable. Dr. Kerstin Hermuth-Kleinschmidt, founder and managing director of sustainability consultancy NIUB-Nachhaltigkeitsberatung, has put together an exciting conference program for the first LAB Sustainability Summit: Covering presentations on bio-based materials, ways to reduce the carbon footprint in chemistry labs, as well as how to develop a sustainability strategy.

On Wednesday, May 10, besides sustainability, there are two more topics on the agenda. In the morning, the daily program starts with a series of expert lectures, organized by the Wissenschaftskreis Genomik und Gentechnik e.V. (WGG), on the potential of genome editing in agriculture and food production. At noon, a conference block organized by Bio Deutschland e.V. provides insights into the analysis and diagnosis of cancer using liquid biopsy. The day is rounded off with the LABVOLUTION Awards ceremony, followed by an After Work Party at the restaurant five continents in hall 19. Admission starts at 6:15 p.m. All winners remain a secret until the award ceremony.

Thursday, May 11, begins with more insights and ideas for environmentally friendly labs. Participants can learn from Dr. Inga Irle, Senior Global Marketing & Product Manager Sample Technologies at Qiagen, how they can develop sustainable laboratory products. Starting at 12:15 p.m., the focus shifts to the area of sample management & logistics. The lecture block starts with a panel discussion, organized by Cryondo, with speakers from cryobiology on the challenges of the energy transition and the availability of resources.

Digitization, miniaturization and sustainability

The Berlin-based Gläsernes Labor Akademie is once again organizing a workshop series for technical employees and laboratory technicians in the life sciences. This time the workshop focuses on the topics of digitization, miniaturization and sustainability.

The Labor 4.0 workshop will take place on May 9 in the conference room Casablance in hall 19/20. The program starts at 10:30 a.m. with an introduction to the topic "Digitization and Miniaturization with Fluidlab Technology" by Dr. Felix Lambrecht, Managing Director of anvajo GmbH.

Deep dive: Discover products and meet the experts behind them

For 3 days, suppliers and users from the various segments of the laboratory technology industry will once again meet for an intensive exchange at the LabUSER Dialogue Forum in hall 20 at booth D85. In the established LABVOLUTION forum, companies give half-hour presentations on use cases, insights and solutions for the needs of everyday work in laboratories.

Renowned companies such as Analytik Jena, Endress + Hauser, Grenova, labforward, United Robotics Group (RobSolutions) and Veolia participate in this year's LabUSER Dialogue.
