LABVOLUTION will not take place in 2025

LABVOLUTION, the European trade fair for innovative laboratory equipment and the optimisation of laboratory workflows, will not take place in 2025. This was announced today by Deutsche Messe.

LABVOLUTION once again presented itself as a pioneer for the laboratory world of tomorrow from 09 to 11 May 2023. At the European trade fair for innovative laboratory equipment and the optimization of laboratory workflows, more than 180 exhibitors and 3,000 visitors from the various segments of the laboratory industry met to exchange information on new products and trends.

After three eventful days, LABVOLUTION 2023 closed its doors on Thursday. Exhibitors, visitors as well as the event organizers at Deutsche Messe have reached a positive conclusion about this year’s event, stating that the trade fair for laboratory technology and optimized laboratory workflows demonstrated once again that the connected laboratory is the only way forward.

IUTA and Green Elephant win second LABVOLUTION AWARD

Making everyday laboratory processes run more smoothly, increasing sustainability, improving efficiency and reducing costs – this is what the second LABVOLUTION AWARD was all about. The award ceremony took place on 10 May, during the second day. Alongside the Institut für Umwelt & Energie, Technik & Analytik e. V. (IUTA), a manufacturing business was also awarded with the desired prize for the first time. The start-up Green Elephant convinced the jury with its sustainablecell culture system.

Start-ups play an important role in economic growth and push innovation forward within the industry – including the various laboratory technology segments. At LABVOLUTION 2023, which will take place in Hannover, Germany, from May 9 to 11, twelve young companies will present their products, technologies and applications for the smart labs of tomorrow.

LABVOLUTION 2023: Exhibition and certified training, all in one

How working in the lab might look like in the future will be demonstrated by LABVOLUTION from 9 to 11 May 2023 in Hannover, Germany. Part of the trade fair for laboratory technology is once again a practice-oriented workshop by the Gläsernen Labor Akademie (GLA) from Berlin. The Laboratory 4.0 workshop for technical employees and laboratory technicians in the life sciences held on Tuesday 9 May is free of charge for visitors of the fair.

IUTA Analytics Day at smartLAB connects 2021

The Analytics Day (AnalytikTag) of the Institute for Energy and Environmental Technology e. V. (IUTA) will be held this year as part of smartLAB connects (7-8 September). It is thus part of the two-day online conference that focuses on the topics of digitalization, sustainability and pandemics.

acatech organises session at smartLAB connects

acatech - German Academy of Science and Engineering will participate in smartLAB connects on 7 September with a session on "Corona as a driver for new directions in drug development and production in Europe". The digital conference will take place for the first time on 7 and 8 September 2021. With a top-class conference programme, renowned speakers and experts from the world of laboratory technology, it will be streamed online from the Media Factory on the exhibition grounds in Hannover.

After a successful premiere at LABVOLUTION 2019, the "GLA Workshops Labor 4.0" of the Gläsernen Labor Akademie are going into the second round. The event on 8 September 2021 is aimed at technical employees as well as laboratory technicians in the life sciences. The workshops are an important part of the conference programme of the digital smartLAB connects, which will be held for the first time on 7 and 8 September.

Premiere of smartLAB connects

Running over two days from 7 to 8 September, the first-ever smartLAB connects, a digital conference supporting the LABVOLUTION trade fair, will substitute as a “digital layover” for this European showcase for innovative laboratory equipment and optimization of laboratory workflows. This new development is due to the pandemic, which has made it impossible to host the Hannover-based trade fair as an onsite event this year.

Top achievements in lab tech optimization to be honored at LABVOLUTION

The LABVOLUTION AWARD addresses companies and facilities having made notable progress in optimizing their lab workflows. The awards will go to the best of these projects, which will be showcased during LABVOLUTION from 7 to 9 September 2021 in Hannover, Germany. The winners will receive prizes worth more than €15,000, including inspiration-rich seminars and consultancy services for the laboratory sector. There will also be special prizes for students and doctoral candidates.

New date: LABVOLUTION 2021 moves from May to September

While preparations for LABVOLUTION 2021 are already well advanced, the trade show for the smart laboratory plays it safe. Due to the corona pandemic, the organizers are moving the event from the beginning of May to September 2021. The reason: LABVOLUTION will have hybrid elements, but the goal is to offer the first real face-to-face event for the laboratory industry after the peak of the pandemic.

LIMS at LABVOLUTION - Since Nothing Works Without Software

With the rapidly increasing amount of data in the laboratory, there is a growing need for software that keeps track of the data and can provide information on details of individual processes at any time. Laboratory Information and Management Systems (LIMS) are the solution. From May 4 to 6, 2021, the LIMS & Software Area will again be part of LABVOLUTION. The trade fair for the smart laboratory will take place in Hannover.

Jülich Research Center wins the first LABVOLUTION AWARD

Saving time and money while at the same time improving efficiency and promoting sustainability – in short, making the lab a better place in which to work – is what the first LABVOLUTION AWARD was all about. The Jülich Research Center achieved this aim and won the LABVOLUTION AWARD with an automated, miniaturized cultivation platform. The prize was presented on Tuesday at LABVOLUTION – Europe’s flagship fair for innovative laboratory technology, in Hannover, Germany.

LABVOLUTION AWARD: the finalists are revealed

The excitement is mounting for the three entrants nominated as finalists for the first LABVOLUTION AWARD. The prize is awarded for a solution that delivers significant, long-term improvements in laboratory work and procedures. The award is aimed specifically at laboratory practitioners, and the first-place finalist will be announced and ceremoniously honored on 21 May – the opening day of LABVOLUTION 2019 – in Hannover, Germany.
