Hannover. After a successful premiere at LABVOLUTION 2019, the "GLA Workshops Labor 4.0" of the Gläsernen Labor Akademie are going into the second round. The event on 8 September 2021 is aimed at technical employees as well as laboratory technicians in the life sciences. The workshops are an important part of the conference programme of the digital smartLAB connects, which will be held for the first time on 7 and 8 September.

On 8 September, from 2 to 5 p.m., the following sessions are on the agenda of the GLA Workshops Lab 4.0:

- Paperless - Research Documentation with the Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN): Workshop with Dr. Anne Kriegel, Labforward GmbH, Berlin
- Next Generation Sequencing (NGS): Lecture by Dr. Michael Becker, Experimentelle Pharmacology & Oncology Berlin (EPO)
- Miniaturisation using the example of fluid lab technology: Workshop with Dr. Felix Lambrecht, anvajo GmbH Dresden

"Our offer is the optimal complement to the digital smartLABconnects programme," says Dr Uwe Lohmeier, head of the Gläsernes Labor Akademie (GLA) at the research campus in Berlin-Buch. "The modules are primarily aimed at employees in laboratories who are interested in the topics of automation, digitalisation and miniaturisation. The topics can be further explored by attending our on-site seminars and events such as the Labor 4.0 continuing education day on 24 September 2021, the Digital Life Sciences from 27 to 29 October 2021 and other offerings."

"We are very pleased that the GLA will also be part of smartLAB connects after its successful premiere in 2019," says Bernd Heinold, Project Manager LABVOLUTION, Deutsche Messe Hannover. "By offering the workshops, it is clear that the topic of further education and training also plays an important role in the context of our event."

Attendance at the GLA workshop as well as the entire smartLAB connects is free of charge, and there is also a certificate of attendance for participation.
