Insights into spectroscopic applications of Fraunhofer FIT
Fraunhofer FIT presents how fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy can be used in applications close to recovery. With the introduction of next-generation sequencing in individualized medicine, the demand for highly sensitive measurement methods is drastically increasing. A Fraunhofer FIT system based on fluorescence correlation spectroscopy makes it possible to characterize valuable patient samples inexpensively, highly accurately and in a single step. Raman spectroscopy is a non-invasive method that does not require additional marking of the sample. This opens up a wide range of applications within the life sciences. Accordingly, this measurement method is used at Fraunhofer FIT to detect molecules with high sensitivity, characterize cells or detect microplastics.
