If a holistic view of systems and processes in the laboratory is to be made possible, consideration must be given to how the data can be effectively transformed into information. During the presentation we will show a possible way to start the journey towards a Smart Connected Lab. The Smart Connected Lab can be achieved in several steps. In order to gain an initial insight into the laboratory, the connection of the various laboratory devices should be started. This will quickly create transparency about the utilization and degree of utilization of the equipment. In addition, potentials are created by evaluating the device data and predicting events.
