Fast measurements and quick results are particularly important for the field of UV/VIS spectroscopy. Often, samples need to be dissolved or derivatized, or the concentration of standards precisely adjusted as a preparatory step for subsequent absorption measurements. Typically a balance is involved in the sample preparation, sometimes also other analytical instruments such as pH meters may be required. After sample preparation, the analysis steps need to be followed closely, in the correct sequence and calculations need to be done to determine the final result. Considering These aspects, the ideal solution would be to have such multiple, mutually dependent workflow steps, including preparatory and actual UV/VIS measurements, automatically coordinated by a superordinated
system. This system should further safely guide the users directly at the laboratory bench by providing clear instructions and perform the necessary calculations autonomously.
