Product description

Dunn Labortechnik offers in Europe and the Middle East exclusively the whole product range of the American company Flexcell International.
Particularly designed for the in vitro analysis of biomechanic and cytomechanic applications, these innovative systems enable the user to induce and observe the results of cyclic or static stress on cells and tissues that have to stand mechanic stress in the body e.g. from muscle, lung, skin, heart, tendon, ligament, cartilage and many more.
The Tension System can be used to apply equibiaxial tension to cells in 2D or 3D culture, the Compression System is used to compress tissue samples or 3D cell-seeded constructs, and the Tissue TrainSystem is chosen for uniaxial tension to 2D/3D cell cultures.
Due to their modular nature, the systems can be combined and upgraded with optional accessories to adapt to individual need. Using the microscopy devices StageFlexer and StagePresser, signalling responses to strain in real-time can be observed, and using the ScanFlex together with the Tissue Train System the gel compaction in 3D bioartificial tissues can be measured.
Further, the Tension System can be upgraded to a high-throughput system by adding the 24-well BioFlex Baseplate Kit with the suitable culture plates from Flexcell.
The new Transwell® Holder for the 6-well and 24-well BioFlex® Culture Plates offers the possibility to test the interactions of mechanically stressed and unstressed cells as well as the effects of this stress on the migration in co-cultures.
