Parallel Kinematics for High-Precision Applications
The SmarPod, based on our linear positioners, is a parallel-kinematic system with six degrees of freedom (three linear and three rotary movement axes). The hexapod-like SmarPod is significantly more compact compared to common, respectively comparable kinematics. It convinces among others, by its particular rigidity, its small moving mass and the resulting increased dynamical response. One of the main advantages of the kinematic calculation, and a big plus for various applications, is the virtual pivot point which is freely definable by the user.
